Get Involved
Everyone wants to contribute to society in one way or another, and everyone does in fact. How you choose to make a difference is up to you. There are plenty of local organizations that could use your help whether it be talent, volunteer time, or donations. Children can even participate, and in fact are your true legacy, so why not teach them the value of giving back. I always wanted to volunteer when I was growing up, but never knew what I could contribute or what the organizations were about. The internet era has made this information more readily available, but unless you know exactly what you are looking for, you may miss out on some great finds.
As I said, our children are our legacy, and so some of these organizations hold a special place in my heart. Each of them offer education and awareness in the communities for various medical conditions and other life altering circumstances that may or may not be preventable. Childhood obesity, for example has more than tripled in the last 3 decades. Growing exponentially, this condition may be responsible for many other conditions as the child gets older. I will be providing information and links to some of our local groups, here in San Antonio, as well as some of the larger chapters. This is strictly for information purposes and not to sway you one way or another. Please understand this is just for insight.
